Xakanaxa Camp has one of the best locations in Botswana. This safari camp is situated in the central east area of the Okavango Delta within the public access area of the Moremi Game Reserve. It enjoys a great location in a game-rich and area. The region has a mix of water based activities and game drives in stunning established forests. This is a charming camp that will transport guests back in time to a bygone age of safari.

Towering riverine forests, open savannah, seasonal floodplains, permanent lagoons, rivers and the intricate channels of the Okavango Delta surround Xakanaxa. The area is the perfect habitat for various wildlife and beautiful birds.

How to get to the camp

By Air

Access to Xakanaxa Camp is by charter aircraft to the Xakanaxa airstrip from Maun (25 min) and Kasane (70min), both of which can be reached by Air Botswana or Air Namibia. For the flight from Kasane to Vic Falls (20 min) you need to allow additional times for customs and immigration. There are various airlines that land at Gaborone or Livingstone in Zambia from where a charter may be organised. The airstrip is 1000m long. It is suitable for single-engined aircraft only and has a weight restriction of 2300kgs.

By Road

Xakanaxa lies 140kms (86 Miles) from Maun and can be reached on sandy roads suitable for 4 wheel drive vehicles only. It is approximately a four hour drive. This safari camp transfers guests from and to Xakanaxa airstrip (15 min).
