Muchenje is in the Chobe Enclave (Chobe Forest Reserve) close to the Western unfenced boundary of the Chobe National Park. Access to the lodge is via Kasane in Northern Botswana.

Kasane, on the Eastern edge of the Chobe National Park, has an international airport serving all local destinations in Botswana. Muchenje is only 45 minutes by air-conditioned Kombi from Kasane Airport along a new tar road through the Chobe National Park to Ngoma. Ngoma is the entrance to the Western Chobe.

Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) and Livingstone (Zambian side of the Victoria Falls) is a simple 2-hour drive from Muchenje and Ngoma along tarred roads. Victoria Falls is a very popular add-on to the Chobe, and vice versa.

To the north into the Namibian Caprivi is Katima Mulilo on the Zambezi River. This is an hour's drive from Muchenje and Ngoma.
