Kings Pool Camp is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, bordering on the western boundary of the Chobe National Park. The camp overlooks the Kings Pool Lagoon and the Linyanti River to the north. The reserve embraces 125 000 hectares of unspoiled wilderness. Open grassland, riverine forest, mixed Terminalia and Mopane savannas characterize most of the area. The area has very large Elephant populations, which reach enormous densities in the winter months.
Accommodation is in 9 luxury tented rooms with en-suite facilities which are possibly the best appointed bath rooms in Botswana. Each room is built on a raised teak deck with wonderful views onto Kings Pool Lagoon. This waterway has great bird life. Hippos, Crocodiles, Bushbuck, Impala, Lion, Elephant and Sable are all seen from the rooms on a regular basis.
The private reserve borders onto Chobe National Park but activities here are not limited to the rules and regulations of Chobe. Kings Pool can therefore offer game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives and walks. In addition, the lodge has a double-decker boat, which cruises the Linyanti River, offering wonderful opportunities to view game and birds from the water. There are also a number of great hides in the area for guests to peacefully view the wildlife the camp has to offer.

Hippopotamus
|
Hippos weigh from 1,600-3,200 kg (up to 3 tons) and it is amazing just how fast they can move, both in and out of the water. The two essential requirements of a hippo is water deep enough to submerge in and a good supply of grassland nearby.
