Travelling within Botswana is most often by light aircraft. These planes have limited storage area and access doors to that area are often small. Travelling ‘lightly’ (approx. 26lbs / 12kg) with soft-sided, preferably duffel-style bags is very important. Kanana is set deep in the Okavango Delta amongst grass-covered islands formed by fertile, eroded termite hills, dotted with Fig, Palm and other safari trees providing shade and a look out for predators to spot their prey on the flood plain.
You will be met at Maun airport by a representative of this Botswana lodge who will assist you in transferring to Northern Air for a 20-minute flight to Kanana's airstrip. This deluxe permanent tented camp in the Okavango Delta is located not far from the current Pom Pom camp in the remote inner reaches of the Delta.
