Chief's Camp is situated on the northwestern tip of Chief's Island, in what is termed seasonal delta. The area is therefore seasonally inundated with floodwaters. Generally the floodwaters infiltrate the area in June / July and remain in site for a period of 4 to 5 months. The climate is semi arid, sub- tropical with cool winters and hot summers.
Chief's Camp is located in the exclusive Mombo concession of the Moremi Game Reserve. This concession is revered as one of the region's prime game viewing destinations and has been called the 'predator capital' of Africa. The area offers spectacular game viewing all year round.
Chief's Camp has its own licensed private airstrip and can take aircraft upward of 5700 kilograms (King Air, Caravan, Pilatus etc). The airstrip is located approximately 2km from the camp. The camp is accessible by air from Maun, Kasane and all other delta camps. Please note the luggage restriction is 12 Kilograms (26.4 pounds) per person.
